The debut of the Middle East-based political family series was watched by 2.1 million viewers last night from 10 PM to 11: 22PM. That’s 20% less than the 97-minute premiere of Fargo on April 15 […].

In terms of the key Adults 18-49 demo, Tyrant pulled in 775,000 viewers. Over all its plays last night, the Howard Gordon, Gideon Raff and Craig Wright EP’d show had a total viewership of 3.46 million with 1.32 million among the demo.

No word yet if the Howard Gordon produced political family drama is coming back for a second season or not, but FX are looking at some mixed results when it comes to how Tyrant’s first run ended. With 1.51 million total viewers the 1-hour 13-minute 10 PM finale was up 4% over its August 19 show. While that is essentially steady, it comes after the show hit a low of 1.34 million total viewers on August 5. Since then, Tyrant’s 10-episode first cycle has been gaining some traction over each of its last three weeks.
