of 22 percent. The debut of The Following, additionally, was 81 percent above the launch of failed fall time period occupant The Mob Doctor (3.7/ 6 on 9/17/12). Let’s see what happens next week.The series premiere of The Following scored a 3.1 adults 18-49 rating down 6 percent from a 3.3 for the two hour premiere of Alcatraz on Monday, January 17, 2012 but up 120 percent from the premiere of timeslot predecessor The Mob Doctor last fall.

At the height of Fox’s strength was week two of Kevin Bacon drama The Following, which (minus original episodes of competing 2 Broke Girls and Mike & Molly on CBS) won the 9 p.m. hour with a 6.3 rating/10 share. Comparably, that grew from lead-in Bones (#2: 5.8/ 9 from 8-9 p.m.) by nine percent. And it dipped by only six percent from its week-ago debut (6.7/10 on January 21, which translated into 10.42 million viewers and a 3.2 rating/8 share among adults 18-49, based on the Live Plus Same Day data. Compared to year-ago occupant Alcatraz (5.7/ 8 on 1/30/12), episode two of The Following built by 11 percent.
Two episodes in and The Following looks promising on Fox. Stay tuned.

Bevor ich damit heute anfange und die Serie nächste Woche abgesetzt wird: sind die Quoten vertrauenerweckend?
Ich würde vielleicht noch eine oder zwei Wochen warten.
After the first three weeks of The Following ratings of 3.2, 3.3, 2.9 (preliminary, not in the calculation above) I’m elevating it to certain to be renewed.
Could it still take a dive, ala Alcatraz last spring, and be canceled? Of course. And if it does, I will move my prediction down, just like I did with Alcatraz. Stay tuned.
