Bin jetzt zu faul zum Uebersetzen, aber jedenfalls ist angeblich eine Adaption zu den Comics geplant.

I have a friend. A friend who, for now, shall remain nameless. I graduated from film school with this friend. When he graduated, he moved out to LA to pursue the dream that is film-making. Ever since then, he’s been working his way up the corporate ladder. And just this week, what we have tentatively titled ”his big break” broke.

He was asked to help produce a new Buffy the Vampire Slayer animated series.

Details are still a little vague, but the show will (at least start off as) an adaptation of the Buffy comic books. He described the series as “motion comics.” Will they be taking the original artwork and frames, just adding motion and sound effects, like the Watchmen motion comic or will they produce a more traditional animated show, using the comic books as storyboards, is not yet certain. And what comics, exactly, is also uncertain. Is it some of the original comics that were released during the show’s run? Or is it from Buffy’s “Season 8?” What is certain is that because they’re using the comic books as their starting point, all our favorite characters will be returning and this animated series will compliment the original series. Whether any of the original cast will provide voices is uncertain (though I’m doubtful). But Joss Whedon is involved.

As my friend put it, “Whedon’s involved, but not on an ‘in-the-studio’ kind of way. He will pop in at bench-marks and give the thumbs up to make the studio happen. Not as much involvement as any of us want, but its better than not any at all.”

aber nett, wenn Whedon wenigstens seine Kommentare zu Skript oder was auch immer abgibt

und die Hoffnung auf die Original-Stimmen der Original-Darsteller ist auch eine nette Vorstellung … alles andere scheint ja noch total in der Schwebe – respektive der Vorstellung der potentiellen Macher – zu hängen … also heißt es erst mal: dat Jesagte zur Kenntnis nehmen, sich zurücklehnen ein Tösschen Tee schlürfen – oder einen ganzen See davon – und abwarten … währenddessen aber das Leben selbst nicht vergessen, denn sonst verpasst man seine Hochzeit, das Aufwachsen seiner Kinder und das eigene Ableben#8o#

Habe das Gerücht (und mehr ist es meiner Meinung nach bislang nicht) auch schon auf anderen Seiten gelesen und bin mir nicht so sicher was ich davon halten soll. Einerseits mag ich Buffy wirklich, aber als Zeichentrickserie kann ich es mir nicht so wirklich vorstellen…
