The serial killer drama series „Dexter“ may be finishing off this coming Sunday, but Showtime entertainment president David Nevins says that may not be the last we hear of the franchise.

Speaking at a Paley Center event earlier this week to celebrate the series, Nevins said:

„Arguably, Dexter is to Showtime what Spider-Man is to Sony or Batman is to Warner Bros., so I think it’s going to be important for us to keep it alive.“

Nevins admits the network has been spending a considerable amount of time considering where the franchise could go moving forward:

„We spend a lot of time talking about how we keep the show alive, so it may be a more complicated original idea than just a spinoff… I hope that whatever we do will feel both original and in keeping with what people expect out of Dexter.“

Spin-offs are all the talk this month at networks following AMC’s announcements of spin-off series for „The Walking Dead“ and the soon to finish „Breaking Bad“.

Das Wort Spin-Off hat definitiv sehr viel mit spinnen gemein. Ich hoffe das (abgesehen von dem Better Call Saul SO) sind alles nur böse Gerüchte. Mad Men ist ja zum Glück von Weiner abgesägt worden.

Also wenn, dann bitteschön das Spin-Off mit Hauptcharakter Quinn (als Privatdetektiv in L.A. oder so ), damits auch richtig … ähm… gut wird
