The early goings of ‚Fringe‘ didn’t allow Olivia to shine, instead focusing on Walter and Peter Bishop. Olivia functioned as the sturdy, but bland, center of the show’s odd cases. But as the season, and the series, progressed, Olivia found herself more and more at the heart of the show’s central themes, and in season 3, has allowed Anna Torv to flex her acting muscles and produce not merely one, but two fully realized iterations of the same character. Now THAT is a pattern with which most television fans can live.
